Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country. Pampanga has a very interesting way of celebrating Holy Week. People have a literal approach of showing penitence for their sins. What exactly happens? Starting from Maundy Thursday to Good Friday, it is not uncommon to see flagellants whipping their backs bloody. People hold an all day & night vigil chanting all the verses of the Bible. Some people even get themselves nailed to crosses.
