Angeles City makes for a convenient starting point for exploring the northern parts of the Philippines. Why? It's smaller, not congested, not heavily trafficked or as polluted as neighboring Manila. Its a quick 20mins to get from the airport to Amasya Guesthouse (via taxi). If you are ever in town for a few days & trying to figure out what to do with 1, 2 or 3 days- here is a list of suggested itineraries.

Afternoon: If you are ready to escape the heat- shopping malls have evolved to be cultural havens where events, festivals, town recreational activities are held. Take the blue jeepney “C-Point Holy Hi-way” all the way to SM Dept Store. Walk around endless rows of stores, go people-watching, relax at a café. When you’re ready for dinner sample the best local dishes at Cabalen buffet restaurant (Php7US. Ground floor of SM). After dinner, catch a movie for cheap ($3US)!
Night: If you still have some energy, check out Angeles City’s nightlife at Fields Avenue. It starts getting busy from 9pm onwards. Popular nightclubs offer entertainment catered to men, often the only entry fee required is that you get a beer or 2 for Php125 each.
If this is not exactly your scene, some excellent alternatives include live music restaurant/bars. Live music starts at 10pm & often play more popular alternative music. Right now most people go to Wishing Well Restaurant & Bar. To get there you can take the same blue jeepney “C-Point Holy Hi-way” heading back to Amasya Guesthouse. Tell the driver to let you off at the corner nearest “Wishing Well Music Lounge”.

2 Days in Angeles City
Morning/ Afternoon. If you have an extra day in Angeles, we highly recommend trekking the trail to the crater of Mt. Pinatubo. It is a beautiful 2.5hr walk through dramatic volcanic landscapes. This takes up most of the day, from 5am to 5pm.
Evening. After a tiring day of hiking, get all your strength back with dinner at any one of the restaurants along Nepo Quad. The restaurants offer cuisine from all over the world & are local favorites.
Cap your day with a luxurious massage any of the inexpensive spas in town. Most are open till late (10pm to 1am). Take your pick; there are about 3 spas for every block at the downtown area. An hour long massage would only set you back around Php250.
